Finding Rest in the Goodness of the Lord

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Dear friends,

Finding Rest in the Goodness of the Lord is a beautiful journey we embark on together. Life has its share of burdens and pressures, but in those moments, we have the incredible opportunity to train our souls to discover true rest in the goodness of our Lord. Today, let’s take a moment to remind ourselves that the Lord is not only good but has also poured out His goodness upon each one of us.

In our journey through life, we often find ourselves burdened by the pressures and pains of this world. It is in those moments of heaviness that we need to train our souls to find rest in the goodness of the Lord. Today, I want to remind you that the Lord is good, and He has been good to you.

The scripture,

Psalm 116:7, says “Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.”

This verse invites us to return to a place of tranquility and peace. Regardless of the circumstances that weigh us down, we are called to declare with all our hearts that the Lord is always good. Will you join me in this declaration? “My Lord is good. He has been good to me. He will be good to me.”

In Isaiah 26:3, we are assured that those who keep their minds stayed upon the Lord and put their trust in Him will experience perfect peace. When we trust God’s goodness even in the midst of trials, we attract His attention, and He is pleased to grant us His peace. This divine peace surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).

There may be times when we cry out to the Lord, overwhelmed by the treachery and problems we face. However, after pouring out our hearts to Him, we can confidently say, “Lord, we know You. You have given us victory in the past, and we trust that You can do it again. We hand over all these problems to You.” It is in that surrender and trust that we receive great peace from God to face the day ahead.

Let us pray together:

Loving Lord, I thank You for speaking to me through Your Word. Despite my failures, You have remained faithful. You are the good God Almighty who has been with me in the past, who is with me now, and who will be with me in the future. Help my soul find rest in You once again. Just as You calmed the raging winds and sea, I ask that You calm my soul with Your matchless peace. Remove every source of stress, grief, and sorrow from my life, for You are a miracle-working God. Grant me the strength and faith to trust in Your goodness, even in the midst of trials. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

May you receive the rest and peace that surpasses all understanding today. Trust in the goodness of the Lord and be blessed!
